That’s the heart behind this song. This world offers treasures, but God offers His presence. Moses chose the wilderness over the wealth of Egypt. Not because the wilderness looked better, but because God was there.
And that’s what the Israelites had to learn. The journey wasn’t just about reaching the promised land. it was about walking with God through the dry places.

“Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.”

Moses didn’t want the promised land without the God’s presence. He would rather stay in the desert with God than enter the promised land without Him. That’s the heartbeat of the song.

I didn’t aim for perfection. I aimed for presence. I didn’t want it polished. I wanted it real.
