Beyond the Promises of God Lyrics: A Song Born From My Soul

Beyond the Promises of God Lyrics

There are moments when words fail and only a song can speak for what’s stirring deep in the soul.

Beyond The Promises of God wasn’t born in a studio. It was born in surrender.

This song came from a quiet place, after nights of prayer, hours of wrestling, and long walks with nothing but Scripture echoing in my heart. It wasn’t about writing something people would sing. It was about living something I needed to survive.

I (Richard Hans Aguilar) poured every part of me into it. The melodies came slow. The lyrics came faster. The Spirit led it all. I composed it, produced it, mixed and mastered it myself, not because I had to, but because I needed every sound to reflect the journey. It was personal. It had to be.

A Song Rooted in the Wilderness

The message behind this song is simple, but powerful. It’s inspired by Israel’s journey from bondage in Egypt through the wilderness, when God wasn’t offering wealth or ease, but Himself.

Think about Moses. He had the palace. He had power. But he walked away from it all—not for fame or fortune, but for God.

“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.”
(Hebrews 11:24–25, KJV)

That’s the heart behind this song. This world offers treasures, but God offers His presence. Moses chose the wilderness over the wealth of Egypt. Not because the wilderness looked better, but because God was there.

And that’s what the Israelites had to learn. The journey wasn’t just about reaching the promised land. it was about walking with God through the dry places.

The Word That Broke Me Open

I was reading this verse, and it wrecked me:

Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.”
(Exodus 33:15, NKJV)

Moses didn’t want the promised land without the God’s presence. He would rather stay in the desert with God than enter the promised land without Him. That’s the heartbeat of the song.

Song Title: Beyond The Promises of God

VERSE 1
Leaving behind the treasures of man,
To find our rest in Your plan.
In the barren place, we lift our eyes,
Seeking more than what this world provides,

In the wilderness, we seek Your light,
Beyond the promises of day and night,
Forsaking all the world’s demands,
To rest within Your Holy Hands.

PRECHORUS
Yea, yeah

CHORUS
Holy 2x
God almighty
You are the strength
That lives deep within
Glory, praises and honor
Are yours eternally.
Holy 4x
God almighty
Show off Your glory
Holy 2x
God almighty
You are the power
That dwells within
Holy Spirit, guide us
For eternity

VERSE 2
Your presence is our delight,
Guiding us through the darkest night,
Not in riches or in promised land,
But in Your presence, we firmly stand

Your presence is all we need,
In every trial, Your love prevails,
Not in pleasure or in promised land,
But in Your presence, we firmly stand

PRECHORUS 2x
Holy, Holy,
YESHUA, yea, yeah

CHORUS
Holy 2x
God almighty
You are the strength
That lives deep within
Glory, praises and honor
Are yours eternally.
Holy 4x
God almighty
Show off Your glory
Holy 2x
God almighty
You are the power
That dwells within
Holy Spirit, guide us
For eternity

BRIDGE
Forever we love you
Holy God, Woo oh woow
Forever we love you
YESHUA, Yea yeah

CHORUS
Holy 2x
God almighty
You are the strength
That lives deep within
Glory, praises and honor
Are yours eternally.
Holy 4x
God almighty
Show off Your glory
Holy 2x
God almighty
You are the power
That dwells within
Holy Spirit, guide us
For eternity

From Production to Praise

Every sound you hear in this song was crafted with intention.

I didn’t aim for perfection. I aimed for presence. I didn’t want it polished. I wanted it real. You can hear it in the rise and fall of the choruses, the raw worship in the bridge, the simplicity of the verses. These weren’t lyrics written for attention. They were words I needed to say to myself, to God, and maybe to someone like you.

Even the way “Holy” is repeated—over and over—it wasn’t strategy. It was response. Like the angels crying out in Isaiah’s vision:

“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” (Isaiah 6:3, KJV)

This Is For the Wilderness Walkers

If you’ve ever felt like you’re in the middle of nowhere, following God without knowing where He’s leading, this song is for you.

If you’ve left something behind that looked promising, because you sensed His voice calling you out, this song is for you.

If you’re learning, like Moses did, that the desert with God is better than Egypt without Him, this song is for you.

“My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”
(Exodus 33:14, KJV)
